Eutelsat transmits the Tooway satellite broadband service all over Europe and North Africa via about 80 separate spot beams … a spot beam is just like an individual satellite footprint. This is why you’ll hear the phrase ‘spot beam technology’ when anyone talks about the Tooway system.
Mainland France is covered by 10 individual spot beams and the diagram below is a graphical representation of those spot beams.
Most of those spot beams are designated by Eutelsat as ‘high fill’ meaning that there are a lot of customers using those beams and a premium can therefore be charged for their use. Three of those spot beams are designated as ‘low fill’ and packages are therefore cheaper. The low fill beams are 10, 11 and 14 on the diagram above.
