Nordnet ... receiving TV and Radio
The new quad LNB and Multifeed Clamp allow Nordnet subscribers to have internet access from 23.5 degrees
and TV programming from either 28.2 degrees or 19.2 degrees. This upgrade to the dish gives consumers additional access
to Freesat or Sky from Astra 2 ... alternatively, TNTSAT or CanalSatellite from Astra 1. The multifeed bracket can only
provide signals from one of those two satellites and not both. The image on the right is of an Astra2Connect installation that
we carried out recently where the existing feed from a Sky dish was added on the dish.
The new quad LNB can connect up to 4 satellite receivers. For UK channels, this could be Sky Digiboxes, Freesat boxes
or Free to Air boxes ... you can mix and match as you please. The LNB has a special filter built into it to suppress
disturbances caused by the simultaneous use of internet and TV reception via satellite. The Astra2Connect iLNB has a
500mW transmitter for sending data to the satellite and this can cause interference to
LNBs that don't have the special filter built into them.
The multifeed bracket replaces the existing iLNB clamp on the Astra2Connect dish. The secondary feed clamp is slid into
place ... the side that it slides into depends on whether you want TV reception from Astra 2 or Astra 1. The new
quad LNB is fitted to the secondary feed clamp and adjusted to provide maximum signal for TV reception. The diagram
here shows how the new quad LNB can be fitted to either side of the main iLNB clamp and then adjusted vertically
for optimum signal quality.
