NordNet ... Frequently Asked Questions

I have Sky ... can I use my Sky dish for broadband by satellite?

No. Your Sky dish points towards the Astra 2 satellite at 28.2 degrees but this system uses Astra1E/3A satellite at 23.5 degrees. Also, the LNB is special as it transmits data as well as receiving it. If you don't want two dishes on your property, you can fit a special bracket and LNB to the 'broadband' dish. Are there any limits to my use of this system?

Depending on the package you choose, you will either have an unlimited amount of data you can download or a limited volume of 2 to 5 Gb. If you have chosen the 'unlimited' option, your service will never stop but the 'Fair Use Policy' would kick in if you use an excessive amount of data in any one month. If you choose the limited volume option, your service will stop as you reach the volume limit ...but, you will always get an Alert on the screen before your volume limit is reached. At that point, you can buy an extra amount of volume to get you through to the end of the month.

Can I use Skype on this system?

Yes, you can.

If I move, can I take the system with me?

Yes, the system will work anywhere in France and you will have to notify NordNet of your change of address. This is important if you have the VOIP option as your emergency numbers are routed through to your local emergency services.

If I take the Volume option, how do I know how much I'm using?

You have a personal page on the NordNet website and you can consult your meter at any time. It will tell you how much you've used, how much you have left and when your meter will be reset to zero.
